Caitlin Rourk Wins Decisive Democratic Primary Victory in TX-10
38.2% Margin Sets Stage for November Showdown
TEXAS — Today, Caitlin Rourk, an Army veteran with bipartisan policy experience in Washington and proven private-sector leadership, secured a decisive victory in the Democratic primary for Congress in TX-10. Rourk won 60.8% of the vote, defeating her opponents by a commanding 38.2% margin, with 94% of ballots counted.
With both parties’ nominees now decided, Democrats head into the general election united and energized, focused on flipping the open seat in November. Longtime Republican incumbent Rep. Michael McCaul announced his retirement last year.
“Today, we’re one step closer to flipping this seat and delivering the representation Central Texas deserves,” said Rourk. “We won this primary through people power: knocking thousands of doors, listening to voters, and sharing a clear vision for effective governance. And we’re just getting started.”
Preliminary data indicates strong Democratic turnout across Texas, underscoring growing enthusiasm heading into the general election.
“Texans are ready for a leader who listens, fights for them, and delivers real solutions for working families. That’s how we’ve run this campaign from day one, and it’s how I’ll serve in Washington,” Rourk added.
A Military Intelligence Officer who served in both the Texas Army National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve, Rourk brings experience in federal service, private-sector leadership, and bipartisan policymaking, including working across party lines on complex issues ranging from energy security to deficit reduction.
Rourk’s campaign is centered on expanding opportunity in TX-10 by fighting for affordable health care, economic opportunity, and a federal government that works for Central Texas families, not special interests.
