Meet Caitlin: A Leader Built to Serve

Caitlin Rourk is a proud Central Texan, U.S. Army officer, business leader, and mom running for Congress to bring principled, practical leadership to Washington.

Raised by public school teachers and shaped by a family tradition of service, Caitlin’s roots run deep in American grit and perseverance. Her grandfathers served in World War II: one an infantryman who served across the European theatre, the other a B-17 waist gunner who crash-landed over occupied France and evaded capture with help from the French Underground. After the war, they returned home to start their families and rebuild America’s infrastructure. Their stories of courage and service inspired Caitlin’s lifelong dedication to serving her country and her community.

Caitlin has lived, worked, and served in Central Texas for more than a decade. Her professional background spans the private sector, public policy, and both federal and military service. Early in her career, she worked across party lines to advance complex policy issues, from energy security to deficit reduction, collaborating with stakeholders on both sides of the aisle. Most recently, she worked at Dell Technologies, leading communication efforts for one of the area's largest employers.

"I'm tired of watching hardworking people be ignored by a political system built for the loudest and most powerful. We need real people in Congress - parents, veterans, neighbors - who understand the challenges families face and who have skin in the game."

Answering a lifelong call to serve, Caitlin earned her commission as a Military Intelligence Officer through the U.S. Army Officer Candidate School. She served full time in the Texas Army National Guard at Joint Forces Headquarters in Austin, where she helped lead emergency responses to natural disasters, COVID-19, civil unrest operations, and multiple border mobilizations. She also served in the U.S. Army Reserve.

Caitlin holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Chicago and an MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin. She and her husband Sasha, a volunteer EMT and medic in the Texas State Guard, are raising their two young children and three dogs in TX-10.

Caitlin is running for Congress because she believes our communities deserve leadership that puts service before politics: leadership that listens, works hard, and gets results.
