Democracy Summer Fellows
(In-Person/15-20 Hours Per Week)
The Caitlin Rourk for Congress Campaign is participating in Democracy Summer.
This year's program will take place from Monday, June 22 to Friday, August 7 and requires a 15-20 hour/week commitment of in-person organizing in CD10, in addition to Democracy Summer's virtual programming requirements. The fellowship is supported by a stipend. Applicants must be at least 16 years of age and able to manage their own transportation.
The Democracy Summer project seeks to bring about political change in America by training and deploying the next generation of Democratic organizers and leaders to win elections at every level. This one-of-a-kind Democratic Fellowship—founded in Maryland by Congressman Jamie Raskin but now undertaken across the country—teaches high school and college students state-of-the-art tactics in voter registration and political organizing, the dynamic history of political and social change in our country, and essential lessons for political leadership.
Organizing & Field Fellow
(In-Person/6-12 Hours Per Week)
The Organizing & Field Fellow will support grassroots outreach, volunteer coordination, and community engagement to strengthen our organizing program and local presence. Campaign will work with professors for class credit, but this is an unpaid fellowship. Dates are flexible.
Responsibilities:
Manage voter and volunteer data using VAN
Organize and support block walks, community events, and phone banks
Assist in developing and expanding organizing program
Track outreach metrics and provide input on strategy and engagement
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior experience in community organizing, field work, or volunteer management preferred
Comfortable with data tools (VAN experience a plus)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Self-starter who enjoys teamwork and on-the-ground engagement
